The 13th Annual Meeting of the Chinese Geoscience Union (CGU 2026) concluded on October 21 in Hangzhou, China. Under the theme "Deep Earth Science and Resources," the five-day meeting brought together more than 5,000 geoscience professionals to discuss advances in deep exploration, geophysical technologies, and AI applications in Earth sciences.

AIDU presented a range of geophysical instruments for subsurface investigation, including MT/AMT systems, ERT/IP imaging systems, ground magnetometers, and UAV aeromagnetic technology.

Bringing AI into Geophysical Exploration

Since introducing AI analysis into its geophysical data processing platform in 2023, AIDU has continued to develop both cloud-based and offline analysis capabilities.

The workflow integrates automated data processing, inversion imaging, and AI-assisted interpretation. Depending on the instrument and configuration, users can generate 2D/3D images and analyze potential anomalies, helping reduce repetitive image-review work and improve field efficiency.

AI supports geological interpretation rather than replacing professional judgment. AIDU continues to refine its software based on user feedback and practical application needs.

Different Methods for Different Exploration Challenges

AIDU's exhibition featured several key technologies:

  • MT/AMT: The EH series supports deep subsurface electrical investigation, with stated exploration depths of up to 8,000 meters, depending on configuration and geological conditions.
  • ERT/IP: High-density resistivity and induced polarization imaging for investigating subsurface electrical properties and geological structures.
  • Ground magnetics: The ACZ-9 proton magnetometer offers a specified resolution of 0.1 nT.
  • UAV aeromagnetics: Aerial magnetic surveying supports efficient regional reconnaissance and large-area data acquisition.

These methods serve different exploration objectives. AIDU's focus is to make field equipment more practical and workflows simpler, while bringing more data processing and interpretation capabilities directly to the field.

Connecting Technology with Field Needs

During the meeting, AIDU's team demonstrated instruments and exchanged ideas with geoscience professionals and industry representatives on mineral exploration, groundwater investigation, magnetic surveying, and automated data interpretation.

AIDU will continue developing its instruments, software, and intelligent workflows to make geophysical exploration more efficient and accessible.

We look forward to exploring further, together.

Let exploration be freer.
